Is it Intelligence,Talent, or Experience?

I've always admired intelligence but I think most of it is heredity. I've always admired a person who could look at blueprints and build a house from the ground up. I respect the person who can speak multiple languages because I can't imagine all the reverse gearing it must take to go from English to Spanish to German etc. but people in Europe do it all the time. That leaves the question; is it talent or experience or intelligence?

My sister and her husband came down to see us last Sunday. My brother –in- law started bragging about a talented young mechanic he found, who was really cheap. I think my brother –in- law was more impressed with the "really cheap" part about the mechanic. He explained how the mechanic tried to fix his power steering fluid problem. To make a long story short, the mechanic was just a part changer and my brother -in -law had to take his car to the dealership where they replaced the pump that was designed for his Chevrolet. The young mechanic may be talented but he will get better with experience.

On the occasions I've had to visit my daughter at her school, her colleagues have always lavished praise on her and told me how smart of a teacher she is. I don't know how smart she is but I do know that she works extra hard and some might say she is a workaholic. She's always been that way, crying when she got her first "B" because she was expecting the usual "A." I think success comes easier for really intelligent people. It might be because of their ability to remember, life experiences, genes, or other factors. I believe we've all met that person(s) who never cracked a book and always made straight "A's." Didn't we just hate them?

My mother always admired handymen because that's the culture she grew up in. My grandfather built their house and did all the repairs. Somehow our extended family broke that chain and the handymen (when there was one) came in as in- laws. She would always jokingly say that she didn't raise any men because my brother and I aren't mechanics, finishers, plumbers, electricians, and don't go past the “plug it in" phase. It didn’t really matter to her if we had good jobs because it had nothing to do with repairing our building things. That's what she associated talent and intelligence with.

In today's world it’s probably the computer geeks who we classify as being talented and intelligent.

Roy Mark is back at the VA disguised as Bloomington using his same tactics of taking words out of context and starting a continuous loop playing the victim because he is a righteous multi-banned,multi-alisisias poster..lol

There's no crying in politics because it's one of those "can't take the heat" issues.

I knew all of that sounded familiar. He even sent me a message off-forum.

Don't these people give up? They lost and cant take a defeat. If Roy Mark is back I assume Kenneth and his craziness would return. I am glad Red Bull is back thou.

I don't care to discuss or argue politics, but there's something about the M.O. of certain posters that makes me want to argue - about arguing.

Rebecca
I gathered that when you stuck your toe in the water but didn't go all in.

Who is Red Bull..I've seen his posts and I suspect he's a former poster or at least a viewer because he noticed that I was still around.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think Kenneth was a poster attacker...Let me rephrase that; in his last months he wasn't..He pretty much stayed on his blogs but his viewership dwindled to the low teens because even his supporters didn't go that far..It was the same for Thor.

I don't talk about politics, but when I do, it's safe to assume that I have consumed quite a few... Dos Equis.

Kidding. I don't like beer either, except Hoegarden pale ale. That's the only beer that I tasted and said, "That's good beer."

Oh,I would hate to be around when you do talk politics because you would let it it all out and would start every sentence with "and another thing." wagging and pointing your finger......:-)

Hoegarden pale ale? Got to try one. I used to favor "Tecate in a bottle w/lime and salt or a Corona but that's as sophisticated as I got.

Red Bull is very familar with the Advocate. He was around during the summer of 2008 I believe. He was the one who gotten under South Texas' skin. I am glad he is back. He can keep some people in check.

OK,I wonder if it's the same one who teamed up with SmarteePantz (sp)and provided the one-two punch of hours of laughter?

I remember the tierra skit.It was better than TV.

You have a good memory...You and another from that era, ragman, took care of a lot of them.

SmarteePantz and Susie (I think) provided the comic relief four years ago during the political season, much to the chagrin of southtexas! She would get sooooo pissed at us joking about how paniced she was going to be when Obama got elected! It was a blast!

Yes, I was bidding on a slightly used tiara on ebay! We were going to share it back and forth.

Come to think of it,she left after the election,.Came back a few times but stayed out of politics..I don't think that the current Red Bull is who BigJ was talking about.

One more thing..I seriously doubt that we will never see the outpouring of support for a banned poster that SmarteePantz recieved...:-)

The tiara thread. And it was Pat, not Susie.
