Rick Perry for Prez ????

Run Rick run......Texans remember this is what he is capable of at the state level.

Governor Rick Perry said he would consider running for president now that he has been inspired by Rush Limbaugh. Governor Perry has been a governor of Texas since the year 2000, and he does have an impressive resume but that is not enough to beat president Obama. I can see him wooing the evangelicals in Iowa and South Carolina plus the libertarians in New Hampshire, so he could be up and running with the first three states in his pocket. His competition for the evangelicals could be Michelle Bachmann, but I’m sure they know that she's unelectable. It's the same in New Hampshire where Ron Paul would be his competition but the electorate knows that Ron Paul is not capable of going all the way. Those first three states might give in the momentum, money, and the press he needs. He will have to get two new political aides because his two top aides are in the Newt Gingrich campaign. If Perry waits for a couple of weeks they should be available after Newt Gingrich bows out of his campaign that's running on life-support.

All these years he served as governor, I don't really know what Rick Perry knows. He refused to campaign against his democratic opponent and Kay Bailey Hutchison and Debra Medina didn't challenge him. The governor will be able to brag about our low unemployment and business climate in the republican primaries. If he gets to the big time, president Obama will rake him over the coals on education and Health Care. President Obama might have a question of two about his 10th amendment stance and secession. I don't see an opportunity for him to get out his message being in a field of 10 presidential candidates. He will have to get at least 5% in the polls to be heard in the debates.

Who knows, I never gave it much thought until Edith Ann mentioned it a few days ago because the pundits haven't mentioned him....I still don't think he is running but I've been wrong before.

Just a few minutes ago his spokesman emailed this:

Shortly after reports surfaced suggesting that Gov. Rick Perry of Texas is considering a potential presidential bid in 2012, his spokesman said he's not.
"Nothing has changed," Mark Miner told National Journal in an e-mail. "The governor has no intention of running for president."

Think of all the hair brained ideas that could be cooked up with a Perry/Trump 2012.

That's funny, Mike.

I, however, would love to get that ball rolling! The sooner we get that idiot out of here, the better. Let the rest of the nation see what we have been dealing with for the last, well, forever! Stuff like this just makes those die-hard republicans look dumb and dumber.

What I now find amusing is all of my republican friends who tell me (after the latest, disasterous Lege session) "I didn't vote for him!" Well, some of them must have--he won, again...

Edith Ann

That must be a republican thing because I'm sure you noticed they did the same thing with President George W. Bush... All of the thousands of posters that voted for Bush either said it was a mistake or that they voted for another conservative, because they were not republicans they were conservatives........ Now the same posters are praising Bush and some are wishing for his return and are again proud republicans..... Loyalty and logic are not their strong suits.

I'm sorry I wouldn't wish Governor Perry on any one but I would love to see him in a debate against president Obama, in front of the national audience of about 50 million.

Edith Ann said...

Rick Perry doesn't debate. I don't know how he thinks he is going to win anything, but he doesn't debate. Bill White tried and tried!

Yeah, I guess they accidentally voted for him. Maybe we ought to have some sort of *test* to vote. Maybe some voters couldn't pass it...

First of all, I think Rick Perry is anglering for the Vice Presidency rather than Presidnet. Whether it is for president and or veep, the Demcorats have a shot, a long shot to hold the LT Governor's seat? Here is why Lt governor Dewhusrt is the likely GOP candidate for US Senate in 2012. Lets assume Perry wins the Prez.Veep and Dewhurst wins Senate. A GOP State President pro tem wil be governor and the senate would have to elect a LT Governor just like in 2000.

I tend to agree, I can see Rick Perry being a possible vice president candidate because he brings the Tea Party credentials. ... If Mitt Romney wins the nomination and picks Perry as his Veep; they will look like department store mannequins with every hair in place, ironed tee shirts and underwear campaigning in starched and pressed three piece suits.... It spells big oil,Wall street, and more abortion legislation.

I don't know about all that maneuvering of Texas politics because they only meet every two years and now that the " voter ID" have been passed; it will be more difficult for minorities to vote.

Thanks Edith  Ann

I love the line "Just what Americans need in the White House: a George W. Bush wannabe."

I could write VA blog about puppies, cookies, and the local weather and some posters would counter with a political jab...:-)

Edith Ann said...

You could give them a long list of republican/FoxNews talking points and they would jab you just because it started, "Mike said..."

Why will having a voter ID requirment make it harder to vote?

Anonymous said...

Edith Ann tests to vote are illegal under the Federal Voting rigts act

Edith Ann said...

Last anonymous poster--I fully realize that using *'s before and after a word is not universally recognized as a sarcasm indicator, but I am aware that a test to vote is illegal.

Next time, I'll warn you well in advance that what you are about to read is sarcasm.

Fair enough?

Edith Ann said...

[WARNING! WHAT YOU ARE ABOUT TO READ MAY BE SARCASM OR IT MAY BE REALITY. I'LL LET YOU DECIDE.]

Obviously more proof some of those republicans may have *accidentally* voted for Perry.

Funny, that's the same category where I place illiterate posters with their attempted 'gotchas', the stupid column.

But, if you are going to brag about Perry, please tell me why I should like him. Please list his accomplishments, because I am obvioulsy way too stupid to see them.

I'm listening...

*SIGH*

You knew this would turn into a pissing match....

Speaking for my Republican self, and no others, Edith Ann, I truthfully DID NOT vote for Perry the last two rounds. Don't blame me....I voted for Kinky. And Bill White. Perry is an eternal embarrassment to the state of Texas. He is every ounce a politician and by no means a statesman. And it's funny, I had mixed feelings when I heard he may be seeking the Repub nomination. My first thought was..."Dear God, whatever it takes to GET HIM THE HELL OUT OF TEXAS!!!!" But then I thought that surely our beloved nation does not deserve that! Oh, I'm simply torn betwixt and between now...

But, yeah, Edith Ann and Mike, I can certainly see him as a very viable vice prez candidate. But I don't think Governor Goodhair would be happy in someone else's shadow.

Time will tell.

Rats! Spent 10 minutes trying to post as SugarMagnolia but some little Google glitch won't let me post as anything but anonymous! So, anyhoo, the previous and current posts are by me, SugarMagnolia. Or, signed...Chef Sal Monella.

Edith Ann said...

As I thought, Anonymous (not SM)--You CAN'T talk about what he has done that's any good, because he hasn't.

He was reelected because there are a whole bunch of republicans in this state who would elect Lucifer and Hitler if they ran together on the republican ticket. Icky Ricky might have won reelection, but as I recall, he lost in the big counties. Dallas didn't elect him. Houston didn't elect him. And he didn't win by a landslide, either!

All you freaking die-hard republicans know is what the assholes on FOXNews tell you you know. And the biggest fan, it seems, of Perry is that drug addict gas bag Rush Limbaugh. Anyone with an IQ above 65 knows he's a joke! What rational, thinking individual would even consider what he has to say?

Perry has repeatedly passed on federal education money and that has resulted in tens of thousands of teachers losing their jobs. The students lost in that deal, too. He gutted the Texas Historical Commission budget. He has sucked at the State's tit for far too long and at too great a cost so that he can have a personal chef while he is displaced from the governor's mansion? What? Alcoholic Anita can't cook? Or won't?

You can champion this real loser all you want. The rest of us are just looking at you and saying to ourselves: "Dumb shit..."

Sorry, Mike, for hijacking your blog.

Sugar--I want him out in the worst way, and personally, I am okay with whatever it takes.

Edith Ann said...

Sugar--it's doing that to me, too. Select Name/URL, and type in your name. Then when it posts, it will say Sugar Magnolia.

Mike--Do you know why Wal-Mart calls its dogfood Old Roy and sells it for next to nothing?

Because it is next to nothing in content. No meat, no protein, no nourishment. All empty filler and by chicken by-product.

Just like MightyJo, who spells his name like a girl. Did he have a sex change, too?

If Jesus ran as Democrat in Texas, he would lose. 2012 US Senate election, Rick Perry vs Barack Oabma race, and Dewhusrt/TSA story will doom the GOP in 2014.

Let me add this. The Victoria Demcorats need to GET OFF THEIR @$$. I love what the Washington Ocunty and the SB18 Democrats are doing. They are talking with people and reseaching.

It couldn't be the " dumb as a box of rocks" Roy Mark who's hiding behind the anonymous, could it? Remember after his fourth or fifth ban, he was ordered to use his real name and then he had the audacity to lecturing those that used a screen name . He doesn't know anything about politics, economics', or world affairs but he can cut and paste the opinions of right wing ideologues.

The Roy Mark who's now blogging as Mightyjoe and is currently hiding behind his wife's skirt, drinking out of his Bill O'Reilly coffee mug while he is posting his babble. A lot of posters know his identity, so it's not like he's fooling anyone. He should at least be man enough to at least come on as Mightyjoe in this blog.

It would take someone like the Roy Mark to be confused with your " thinking out loud" comment. I knew the context you were using and so did the people who normally read this blog....You see in this right wing state, a good conservative would win a consistent 60% of the votes as they do another conservative states. In 2006,Rick Perry didn't even get 40% of his party's vote.

Mike said...

Sugar
I agree,Rick Perry, would not be a good surrogate but like he got his job the first time, he could be thinking that if he gets his name on the ballot, it will give him the name recognition he needs for when he runs for president..... You never know after all the was a cheerleader at Texas A&M.

Mike said...

Lol..... Roy Mark, who has been banned multiple times,is shamelessly advertising the fact that he does not delete comments because it makes for a lively discussion... That was enough to make me throw up my breakfast but it's laughable how person who hides behind his wife's skirt can lie about how he is taking the high road.

Who wants to discuss anything with uninformed ideologues?.... It's not going to make me change my mind about deleting all of Roy Mark or rollingstone's comments, I'm sure they'll make a happy couple..Happy blogging, rest assure, I won't read, much less take part in that lively discussion...LOL ..I don't need Roy Mark but he needs ME to comment or write a blog,so he can try to counter.. Mark doesn't have the intellect to lead the conversation, so he has to react.

Mike said...

Just to show you how despicable the troll,Roy Mark, did I tell you he hides behind his wife's skirt to post, has now joined me as a follower but I will delete his comments on using anonymous as my guide for now.

The troll has put up one of the worst blog I've ever seen, but anyway pull up the follower's rojomark(how original)profile and go to cobdoger because apparently he follows himself where he met where he has posted my remarks. I also saw marryann and his view about the editor Chris......

I'm looking for ways to delete him as a follower, but if you know a way please let me know because I will delete this whole blog by hiding it from public view if nothing else.

Edith Ann said...

This is getting to be too funny!

BigJ, let me make a small correction to your statistic about Texas' educational ranking nation wide--we're 48th!!! Apparently that moron in Austin thinks the higher the number, the better the ranking! What a dunce! But, he was a cheerleader in college--probably didn't spend a lot of time in class.

Yeah, it's really amusing when folks come over, use 'anonymous', and spew the same crap as they do on the Advocate. Apparently, in folling themselves, they think they are fooling the rest of us. All I have to say, is if he is hiding behind his wife's skirt, what a wuss!

Ol' Roy is a whole lot like Ol' Kenneth--they both post multiple comments when no one else will! You are right--you certainly don't need Roy Mark, but he does need you. "Mark doesn't have the intellect to lead the conversation, so he has to react."

Edith Ann said...

Congrats on the 12,000 plus page loads! Amazing how quickly that number rises! Keep up the good work!

Mike said...

Thanks Edith Ann
You know Roy Mark might as well use his real name because the Vic Ad rules don't apply to my personal blog and emails and believe me I'm getting the word out...lol..He thinks that by lying, he can bluff his way through. This is not the Fox News audience.

What kind of man hides behind his wife's skirt, use the anonymous label, when we know who he is, and barge in as a follower when he is not wanted?...A troll who can't help himself..Seek help.

Mike said...

I'm really sorry for all the inconvenience but I would really appreciate it if legion357, victorianbybirth,Kyle,BigJ, would reinstate themselves as followers.... In deleting rojomark(Roy Mark) I accidentally got every follower in front of him...I am very sorry for the inconvenience but I have been given some technical advice so that won't be happening again...Thanks

Edith Ann said...

Mike--you're still showing them as followers, including Old Roy.

Try it again, and see if it works.

Mike said...

Thanks Edith Ann

I tried again but I only see three followers...I now have a project to work on this afternoon unless it reappears.

The very idea of Rick Perry has President is almost as scary as the reality of Barack Obama.

I'm going back to bed now.....
