They told me that they do not redeliver anymore because of the cost of gas. Huh?They offered to credit my account.

Think about it ,they must be missing a lot of deliveries if the price of gasoline comes into play.Mikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02668070524354374505noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1674561724432497133.post-17824233251745977402013-03-21T14:42:52.325-05:002013-03-21T14:42:52.325-05:00Thanks for the advice EA…I went to the Victoria Te...Thanks for the advice EA…I went to the Victoria Tea Party site and do you know for $5 you could have taken a picture with George Washington…Reminds me of the old televangelists who would send you “wood in a frame” from Noah’s Ark for a nominal fee plus shipping and handling. I blew up the crowd picture (wasn’t hard. Not that many people) and found that some of my friends are wingers.

Well, Paul should have stayed mum….I probably wasn’t going to vote for anyone in the mayor’s race because they are all wingers in different shades. However, I will certainly cross out one candidate and try to convince as many like-minded people as I know to do likewise. It looks like they fall for it every time…Call them out for not being conservative, and they’ll go over the deep- end in trying to out conservative the challenger.
Mikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02668070524354374505noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1674561724432497133.post-87504727241034697802013-03-21T14:11:30.987-05:002013-03-21T14:11:30.987-05:00Mike, Mike, Mike...all you have to do is google Vi...Mike, Mike, Mike...all you have to do is google Victoria, Texas Tea Party to see the videos of Polasek (and Todd Jett and Tami Keeling and others)speaking at the tea party events. He is only saying what he thinks he has to say to get elected! He is a tea partier at heart and will always use that thinking as his default position. He would have stayed mum, except Jeff Williams called him out. If a person from the south side gets a job at Wal-Mart, the bus service allows them to get to work, so they have money to make a purchase (sales tax).

That’s what wrong with the ultra-conservative mindset, everything is about instant profit. It’s an Ayn Rand mindset “Capitalism and altruism are incompatible”

The Walk-and Bike Trail is not only a payback to the citizens, but some upstart company might take notice and use it as a selling point like they do the brand-new schools. Every growing city has to have a public transit system, and initially, it might operate in the red but that’s no reason to give up on it. Austin, Texas did not put in bike racks, bike lanes, and trail rides because it would turn a profit.

I don’t know anybody who rides the city buses, but I don’t think I’m going on a limb by saying that they are not dependent (in a social welfare way) on public transportation, Mr. Polasek. I imagine they will walk, ride a bike or won’t meet their scheduled appointment.

Being frugal is a good quality, but it mustn’t cloud compassion, vision, or practicality.

Words matter!
Mikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02668070524354374505noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1674561724432497133.post-7685228388210507082013-03-21T13:18:12.877-05:002013-03-21T13:18:12.877-05:00I see your point about using it or losing it but w...I see your point about using it or losing it but we survived the y2K scare.

I hope people are still using their brains and are using computers to be more productive.

I'm not worrying about what will happen to the kids if the satellites go down, or the internet stops working one day because we'll have have a catastrophe on our hands to be really concerned about.
